New Project

Today we began the construction of a fire heated hot tub.  We will be using an old enamel covered cast iron bath tub, old cinderblocks, rocks we harvested on site, cob and earth plaster.  The tub will be mounted on cinderblocks, with an open fire box located directly underneath it.  Additional cinderblocks will then be placed around the supporting blocks to form a strong foundation.  Rocks will then be placed around the bottom of the foundation to create a raised footing for the cob covering and also to add beauty.  Cob will then be used to cover the foundation and sides of the tub.  A traditional earth plaster will be used to cover the inside walls of the fire box.

The foundation for the hot tub is complete.  The next step will be to cover with cob.
